  • From walking through postpartum depression to transforming the way families are cared for - this is where Michigan Family Nannies began.

Founded in 2017 by Jodi Graves, a pioneer in birth, maternal, and postpartum care, MFN was born from her belief that no woman should ever feel unsupported during one of life’s most vulnerable and transformative times.

Jodi was a nanny for many years in her 20's and became a certified birth doula in 1999—long before most people even knew what a doula was. After navigating her own challenging birth and postpartum experiences, she made it her life’s mission to bridge the gap between medical care and emotional support for families.

With over 25 years of experience, Jodi is a Lifetime Elite Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula, Advanced Newborn Care Specialist, Infant Feeding Specialist, and Certified Doula Trainer. She also holds advanced degrees, including a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, along with degrees in Psychology, Naturopathy, Nursing, and Education—a reflection of her deep commitment to holistic, evidence-based family care.

Today, Jodi continues to mentor and shape the next generation of nannies and doulas while leading both Michigan Family Doulas and Michigan Family Nannies—agencies redefining what it means to truly support families through every stage of parenthood.
